See more Our household does laundry in the bath tub so we were looking for a rubber stopper that we could use while laundry is in the tub. Our bath tub had a built in metal stopper, but it leaked like crazy so we removed it and replaced it with this Danco tub stopper.Our bath tub''s drain is 1 3/4" in diameter. This tub stopper is the perfect size. While they claim it will fit 1 1/2"-2" drains, the stopper does not actually fit a 2" drain. Our kitchen sink has a 2" drain and this stopper is not wide enough for it. Besides the sizing being wrong on this stopper (we now have a spare for the tub), the chain is too short for a tub stopper. The whole idea of a tub stopper having a chain is so you don''t have to reach into the murky bath water, or in our case laundry water to remove the stopper. The chain is too small to reach the tub spout. To compensate for the short chain, we hooked a plastic cable tie to the top to form a loop that lengthens the tub stopper chain. With the addition of the cable tie, the tub stopper''s chain now reaches the tub spout and makes it easy to pull the stopper out of the tub without touching the water filled tub. The color of this tub stopper is an ugly cream like off white color. The color is similar to the one shown in the later pictures on Amazon and is not white like it appears in the first picture. Since we primarily use this stopper for laundry, the color is not a big deal, but some people would find it problematic, especially if their tub is bright white in color. The chain on this stopper rusts with continued use. When we do laundry in the tub, the water sits for less time than it would if you were taking a bath, so it''s not like the chain is always in the water. Yet in under a year the chain had rusted out and we removed it and replaced it with a few plastic cable ties strung together. Finally the tub stopper itself is prone to developing pink mold, even when it''s left out to dry after each use. To combat this we soak it once a week in vinegar and then allow it to dry. No more pink mold. All in all, this has been a great tub stopper. I have purchased three of them, and they last about a year each before the rubber starts falling apart and the chain becomes rusted out.
