This wood burning kit is a wood burner when put on wood iron head, and it's a soldering iron when put on iron head.

This’s a good starter kit, coming with all the necessary small pieces you need and easy to use for arts and craft projects.

The wood burner heats up quick and is really easy to grip and use!

Wood Burning and Soldering Tips

Notes:

1.It is normal that the product produces smoke when used. Suggest use in a well ventilated space.

2.Draw the stencils first, then burn them.

3.Please wet the sponge before using.

4.Please waiting the temperature drop down then replace metal tips wearing a work glove.

5.When not in use for more than 10 minutes, you need to turn off the power or reduce the temperature. When using, do not keep in one direction, and change the direction appropriately.

First of all I was surprised by this sloppy translated user manual (see picture). It doesn''t contain a model number so my guess is they put it with all soldering irons they sell. Under ''using & maintenance method'' it reads under point 1: ''Don''t know and throw off tin for fear of affecting the life of heating element.'' If you don''t know I don''t know either. I tried one of the 5 extra soldering tips but couldn''t find information how to install them. There is one picture in the product description here on Amazon that explains how. The wheel for the temperature is small and the temperature information printed on the wheel are even smaller. People with bad eye sight probably need a magnifying glass to read the numbers. I gave 3 stars for the temperature control because that is my assumption based on the overall quality. The handle gets warm after 20 minutes of use close to the point of being uncomfortable. Reading reviews of higher priced products and watching wood burning videos I think this is normal and maybe unavoidable. Some people wore special gloves. This thing is worthless. Tips are non standard and everything is poor quality. Even the pencil the sent is busted. How do you mess up a pencil?

It is quite complex with many different tips to use to make different patterns and almost no instructions. The instructions available were limited and confusing and didn’t help us use the product. Once we figured out how to use it it was EXTREMELY difficult to use, the grip is much higher than the writing tip so it is difficult to actually control what you write. On top of this, as you write the tip screwed in to the top becomes looser and looser caused you to have to pause every 10 to 15 minutes or so to let it cool down to tighten the tip. The heat was also out of control as when we started using it it would write smoothly but as we continued it became nearly impossible to write smoothly. Although it has many flaws it did work for what we wanted it to and the final products look ok. Upon opening this on Christmas Day, my husband who is very new to wood burning and wanted to pick it up as a hobby, was very confused as to which pieces were what. Nothing was labeled, the 1 instruction paper was very poorly written and not very detailed.
I feel like the tool tips and parts of tool should have had a separate booklet or been labeled completely along with a DETAILED how to and beginner booklet.

THEN today was the first time he’s had a chance to “play” with his wood burner and part of the metal tip that you attach the attachments to broke off. It still gets hot, but he can no longer put tips on it.
We’re both so disappointed. The first time used it broke!!!!

You get what you pay for, folks. If you’re reading this, I highly suggest to buy a higher ticket item. This is not quality. Save your money and time.
